Stop this

Stop the creation of open-cast mines in and around the villages of the Vale of Evesham.
This is a long-term project which will take a number of years to complete.
We are currently making representations to Worcestershire County Council as part of the consultation process for the Worcestershire Minerals Local Plan. Whilst this sounds like a benign document it is actually the first steps in Worcestershire County Council's plan to allow mining companies access to thousands of acres of productive agricultural land across the county.
Our communities are preparing to oppose any requests for permission to mine which we expect mining companies such as Tarmac, Bredon and others to submit in the first half of 2021. There is already activity in the village of Charlton with engineers, acting on behalf of Tarmac completing surveys of the land to establish where the mining will be most lucrative for them.
